The protestor, Guido Reichstadter, started climbing the bridge about 10 a.m. Friday, according to FOX 5 DC. 

Even though Reichstadter stood atop the bridge, website traffic arrived to a halt while officers tried using to speak to him.

Reichstadter hopes the stunt will encourage civil disobedience nationwide in response to the Supreme Court's ruling.
