At minimum 51 individuals have died in a Colombia jail Tuesday right after a fire broke out following an escape attempt, reviews say.
The blaze in the Tulua jail, which also remaining 30 injured, unfolded all over midnight, according to Caracol Radio.
"We regret the activities that occurred in the prison of Tuluá, Valle del Cauca," Colombia’s President Iván Duque Márquez wrote on Twitter, including that he has ordered federal prison officers "to carry out investigations to clarify this horrible situation.
"My solidarity with the family members of the victims," Márquez also mentioned.

Resources in Colombia’s National Penitentiary and Jail Institute (INPEC) instructed Caracol Radio that an escape try inside the facility led to a riot, exactly where prisoners began a fireplace.
