President Joe Biden praised senators for coming to a bipartisan framework on gun security and urged Congress to pass it Sunday, but he also explained the eventual bill will not be adequate on its possess.

Biden introduced his response to the framework Sunday afternoon, several hours soon after Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Ct., launched an outline of a gun basic safety offer that Republicans would reportedly be ready to aid.

"I want to thank Senator Chris Murphy and the customers of his bipartisan group—especially Senators Cornyn, Sinema, and Tillis—for their tireless perform to produce this proposal," Biden wrote.

"Definitely, it does not do every little thing that I consider is essential, but it reflects essential actions in the proper route, and would be the most considerable gun safety laws to go Congress in a long time," Biden continued.

Ten Republican senators signed on to the framework, the quantity needed to move the laws more than any opportunity filibuster.

Biden's statement comes more than a 7 days right after Murphy called for the president to stay out of negotiations, declaring Congress "requires to do this ourselves."

He went on to suggest that Democrats are keen to compromise if it implies Republicans would be inclined to go meaningful gun reform legislation.

"We're not going to put a piece of laws on the desk that will ban assault weapons or pass complete track record checks," Murphy explained to CNN. "Appropriate now, men and women in this nation want us to make progress, they just really don't want the status quo to continue on for yet another 30 yrs."
