Putin critic Alexei Navalny has been unexpectedly transferred to a new jail that his supporters are describing as "1 of the hardest and most torturous in Russia". 

The jailed Russian opposition leader – who received a 9-yr sentence in March after remaining convicted of fraud fees he argues are politically-motivated – was taken from Correctional Colony No.2. in Prokov, about 65 miles outside of Moscow, to the IK-6 penal colony farther east in Melekhovo, according to Russian point out media. 

"Even if the reviews about Navalny becoming transferred to the Melekhovo Penal Colony are genuine, it is hardly a reduction. This colony is acknowledged to be one particular of the toughest and most torturous in Russia," Anna Veduta, the vice president of the Navalny-launched Anti-Corruption Foundation, said in a statement received by WHD News.  

"Just before Navalny’s attraction to a nine-12 months sentence in a most-security prison was upheld, there ended up previously rumors he would be transferred to this colony," Veduta’s assertion additional. Navalny’s spokesperson claimed Tuesday that his lawful team wasn’t designed conscious of the transfer.
