'Singing 17 songs': Tried Reagan assassin encourages live performance in NYC

The would-be assassin of previous President Ronald Reagan, John Hinckley Jr., shared a tweet Friday promoting his live performance in New York City.

"I will be singing 17 tracks at my display in Brooklyn, NY. on July 8. All originals," he wrote.

Hinckley first announced the gig in April. "Big news!! I will be accomplishing on July 8 at the Market Lodge in Brooklyn, NY," he tweeted. "Get your tickets even though you can."

On Wednesday, U.S. District Court docket Judge Paul Friedman granted Hinckley unconditional release from any current restrictions, to start on June 15.

According to Friedman, he is “no longer a risk to himself or other individuals."

"A massive thank you to all people who assisted me get my unconditional launch. What a prolonged odd vacation it has been," Hinckley tweeted soon after the ruling. "Now it is time to rock and roll."
