Soon after authorities identified an 18-wheeler that carried up to 100 folks abandoned in San Antonio, including at the very least 46 persons who were being deceased, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott blamed President Joe Biden and his immigration procedures.

In a tweet, Abbott said Monday evening's discovery rests squarely on Biden. "At Least 42 People Located Useless Inside Truck Carrying Migrants In Texas. These deaths are on Biden," Abbott claimed, ahead of officials lifted the loss of life depend to at least 46.

The Republican governor also criticized Biden for not doing enough to safe the southern border.

"They are a final result of his fatal open up border guidelines. They display the deadly repercussions of his refusal to implement the legislation," Abbott extra.

Quite a few other officials blamed the incident on Biden’s immigration procedures, which includes Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who identified as the discovery "horrific" and "erroneous."

Rep. Tony Gonzales, a Republican who represents Texas, also tweeted about the incident.

Visualize getting abandoned inside an 18-wheeler still left to die - 42 people today died these days - will @AliMayorkas even point out their names?" the lawmaker said, referencing Alejandro Mayorkas, who was nominated by Biden to direct the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Safety.

Gonzales also named on Mayorkas to resign.

Sec. Mayorkas also responded to the incident on Twitter.

"I am heartbroken by the tragic reduction of life these days and am praying for people however battling for their lives," the Biden administration formal claimed. He also reported ICE is investigating and termed human smugglers "callous men and women who have no regard for the susceptible people today they exploit and endanger in purchase to make a revenue."

He vowed to hold these responsible accountable and to just take additional motion to disrupt smuggling networks.

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who is a registered Unbiased, also produced a basic reference to border guidelines staying to blame.

"The plight of migrants trying to find refuge is generally a humanitarian disaster but tonight we are dealing with a horrific human tragedy," the mayor additional Monday evening, talking in close proximity to the locale exactly where the tractor-trailer was found.

Officers did not say whether the folks were being currently being transported from Mexico or in other places.

Last week, Republican Rep. Andy Biggs explained the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border as "overrun," "out of handle" and "perilous" He also predicted extra fatalities would before long be discovered.
