About a year after the confrontation between Germany and England in the final price of the European Football Cup and ended with the latter’s 2-0 victory, “National Manchaft” is playing a revenge match against the “Three Lions” team in Munich in the second round of the European Nations League.

The two teams need to win after England lost their opening match against Hungary 0-1 in the third group of the first level, while Germany suffered a tie against Italy, which played with a substitute squad after playing the “Finalisima” match against Argentina only three days ago.

In the same tournament, star Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals to lead his country to an explicit victory over Switzerland 4-0 and take the lead in Group B in the second round.

The Portuguese team snatched a 1-1 draw from Spain in the middle of the week, leading the group with 4 points, with a goal difference from Czech Republic, which achieved a remarkable result in a 2-2 draw with Spain in Prague.

In the first match, William Carvalho opened the scoring for the Portuguese national team when he followed a rebound from goalkeeper Gregor Kopel after he blocked a direct free kick by Ronaldo, to follow it first in the net (15).

Ronaldo then scored two goals within four minutes, in the 35th and 39th minutes, to raise his international tally to 117 goals.

Ronaldo thus ended a fasting for his country’s national team shirt that has continued since October 2021 and his hat-trick against Luxembourg. Then Joao Cancelo finished the 2016 European Champions’ Goal Fest in the 68th minute.

In the second match, the Czech team stunned Spain by drawing 2-2.

The Czech Republic was on its way to achieving a resounding surprise, as it advanced 2-1 against Spain, the runner-up of this competition last October, until the last minute before La Roja equalized.

The hosts opened the scoring early through Jakub Besic, but Spain and Barcelona midfielder Gavi equalized in the third minute of overtime in the first half.

Gavi became the youngest player to score a goal for Spain at the age of 17 years and 304 days, breaking the previous record of his teammate Ansu Fati, who scored his goal against Ukraine on September 6, 2020, at the age of 17 and 311 days.

The Czech Republic advanced again through Jan Kochta (66), before Inigo Martins saved Spain from the loss by equalizing at the last gasp with a header that hit the crossbar and wobbled into the net.

In the other most prominent matches, Erling Halland scored the two goals of his country, Norway, against Sweden, to win 2-1, including a penalty kick, while Serbia, qualified for the World Cup in Qatar, achieved a wide victory over Slovenia 4-1.
