A teen worker at a Utah restaurant thwarted a robbery Friday night just after he tackled a possibly armed suspect making an attempt to make off with stolen money, authorities explained. 

The incident unfolded at Durango's Mexican Grill in St. George, a city in southwestern Utah on the border with Nevada.

The suspect entered the restaurant about 9:45 p.m., "referenced a weapon, threatened to damage workers and demanded income," St. George law enforcement claimed.

Workers complied with the suspect’s calls for and as the robber was leaving the scene with the money, law enforcement claimed a 17-year-aged employee tackled him and other staff helped keep the suspect down.
