Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy is struggling a broken hip as a outcome of a tumble at his McLean, Virginia, residence on Wednesday night. 

In a statement, the 82-12 months-previous Democrat's business office explained that he would go through surgical treatment to repair service the hip on Thursday early morning. 

"Acquiring been born blind in just one eye, the senator has experienced a lifelong battle with lowered depth perception.  He has taken some exceptional dingers around the decades but this just one ultimately caught up with him," Leahy's office environment reported.
