A 9-year-aged woman in Washington state is continuing to get better following she fought back again from a cougar that attacked her in the woods around a campsite around the weekend, authorities stated.

Lily Kryzhanivskyy was participating in hide-and-seek out with two other kids attending a camp around Fruitland, Washington, on Saturday morning, the Washington Section of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) said. When Lily jumped out to shock her friends, the cougar pounced.

Lily was rushed to a healthcare facility, exactly where she underwent surgery for multiple wounds to her head and higher physique. She was produced from the intense care unit on Monday.

"The discomfort that she’s in and not staying able to slumber comfortably – she’s out there singing," Mantsevich explained, adding that the spouse and children is "super happy" of the 9-year-old’s toughness. 

Wildlife officers explained that Lily did absolutely nothing incorrect, introducing that the assault happened so rapidly that there was very little she could have carried out to avoid it.

"We are exceptionally grateful for this very little girl’s resiliency and we are amazed with her spunk, in the experience of this unlucky come upon," stated Capt. Mike Sprecher of the WDFW Police. "It occurred quick and we are thankful that the older people at the camp responded so swiftly."

Meanwhile, the young male cougar was later killed at the scene. Exams done around the weekend identified the animal did not have rabies, wildlife officials explained.

Cougar assaults on individuals are scarce, in accordance to WDFW, with just two deadly attacks developing in Washington state. In the previous 100 decades, the company reported there have been 19 cougar assaults on people that resulted in accidents.
