Employees at the San Diego Zoo safely taken out a dog that turned trapped in an enclosure with gorillas on Sunday.

The doggy, discovered as a male shepherd, reportedly entered the enclosure of its personal accord. A gorilla shortly noticed the pet and chased it, even so, leading guests to start yelling the gorilla's name in an attempt to distract it, according to CBS 8.

Workers with the San Diego Human Society soon intervened, removing the gorillas and rescuing the canine.

"As before long as zoo staff noticed the doggy, they moved the gorillas out," the SD Humane Culture explained in a assertion.

The pet dog, which did not have a microchip, is now staying held so the operator can be determined.

"Our Humane Officers have been able to move in and safely leash the shepherd and carry him again to our Escondido Campus for evaluation," it continued.

The incident arrives times just after an orangutan grabbed a visitor through its cage at a zoo in Indonesia.

Footage demonstrates the animal snatching at a visitor's shirt, triggering a scuffle where the gentleman attempts to escape the animal's grasp.
