Chicago has submitted prices against a suspect accused of critically wounding a law enforcement officer and attempting to shoot an additional.

A Chicago police officer was in critical but steady condition Friday right after currently being shot multiple instances by a convicted felon though responding to a domestic violence connect with, law enforcement say. 

Jalen Vales, 27, has been discovered as the suspect.

Vales is billed with two felony counts of attempted murder in the initially degree, one felony depend of aggravated battery of an officer of the peace, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

"The offender was put into custody and charged appropriately," according to the similar report.

The wounded male officer, who has served 15 decades with Chicago Law enforcement, was ambushed although attempting to make his way to a house close to 8:30 a.m. Friday morning in the city’s Around West Aspect community, in accordance to Supt. David Brown.

Brown advised reporters that no responding officers discharged their weapons. 

The wounded officer was transported to Stroger Medical center by a University of Illinois at Chicago officer who was monitoring law enforcement radio, "very likely saving his existence," Brown added. 

"Each one day, on each individual check out, courageous guys and girls of the Chicago Law enforcement Department put on their uniform and their badge and go out to secure every single and each and every a single of us," Mayor Lori Lightfoot explained. "We have to try to remember that officers every single one working day are risking their lives for our safety and right now underscores that."
