Crowds of Fourth of July weekend holiday travelers were stranded outside the house of New York City’s John F. Kennedy Intercontinental Airport Sunday amid an investigation into an unattended bag, WHD News Digital has realized.

A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey explained to WHD News Digital by cellphone that there was no evacuation order, but individuals had been "relocated" from departures to arrivals at Terminal 4 amid an ongoing investigation into an "unattended bag."

The official Twitter page for Kennedy Airport later introduced at 12:21 p.m. that an "earlier stability incident has been cleared."

"Arrivals and departure stage roadways at Terminal 4 have reopened," the tweet mentioned. "Be sure to expect residual targeted traffic delays and allow for extra journey time."

The Port Authority spokesman would not validate irrespective of whether a bomb squad had been referred to as in, but movies on-line showed substantial crowds of people with their suitcases and other luggage exterior the terminal.

Yet another online video showed armored autos arriving at the scene.

The spokesman emphasised that methods have been deployed to address any potential threat, but that does not always signify there’s a bomb.

The official Twitter website page for Kennedy Airport before had acknowledged a "security incident" at Terminal 4, saying arrival and departure stages remain shut to inbound targeted visitors.

"Be sure to hope traffic delays and let supplemental travel time," the account tweeted.
