A Florida man who evaded deputies earlier this yr by escaping into a swamp was caught on Saturday soon after he attempted to outrun law enforcement on a driving lawnmower, authorities reported.

Dusty Mobley, 40, was found all around 9:30 a.m. at a property on Pasco Broxson Circle in Holt, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Place of work stated. He was desired on warrants connected to the theft of a $40,000 boat in January.

When Mobley noticed the deputies, the sheriff’s business claimed he switched a John Deere using lawnmower "into large gear" and tried out to flee the scene. Mobley was quickly apprehended just after pursuing deputies tased him.

Mobley was taken into custody and located in possession of a revolver, a handcuff critical and a pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue, deputies stated.

Times immediately after the January theft, deputies claimed they found Mobley aboard the stolen boat. But when they experimented with to speak with him, he jumped overboard into the swamp and disappeared.

Mobley faces a slew of charges including grand theft, grand theft of a vehicle, felony felony mischief, two counts of resisting an officer, possession of a hid weapon by a felon, carrying a concealed handcuff crucial, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony failure to surface, between many others.
