The Philadelphia Flyers acquired defenseman Tony DeAngelo Friday from the Carolina Hurricanes for a pair of draft picks, and Flyers supporters didn’t look to be too happy about it.

They criticized the staff on social media over the acquisition.

DeAngelo was when suspended for violating the Ontario Hockey League’s policy on "homophobic, racist and sexist language" and for abusing officers, according to ESPN.

On Saturday, DeAngelo once again denied he was a racist.

"I’m definitely not racist at all. There was some thing I reported back in junior men and women do not know what it is. I’m not heading to go into it," he explained. "But it was a thing I regretted. A close friend of mine on my team, we had an argument, and we remained pals. The other stories that have arrive out are totally untrue, and I assume which is why teams in this league have acknowledged that."

DeAngelo will now be participating in for his 3rd team in 3 many years.

"We are extremely delighted to increase Tony to our workforce, and I know he is incredibly psyched to be part of the Flyers," Fletcher explained in a news release. "We did our thanks diligence, and we strongly consider in Tony and his skill to assist our workforce. He is a correct-handed shot who moves the puck particularly perfectly and will drive offense from the back close for us."
