A Catholic church in Kentucky held what it known as a "Provider of Atonement and Apology to the LGBTQ+ Neighborhood" on Thursday evening – the ultimate night of Pleasure Month.

Saint Paul Catholic Church in Lexington posted a copy of the program to its Fb web page expressing the provider was an apology to the community for "the Church's absence of regard, compassion, and sensitivity and for unjust discrimination."

The services was led by the church's director of Catholic LGBTQ+ ministry. In a letter titled "Apologies and Reconciliation," the director wrote: "The phrases the Church utilizes to describe me nonetheless sting, but I feel we are witnessing the evolution of doctrine, so I have hope. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that homosexual acts are "functions of grave depravity." It says "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered" and they are "opposite to natural regulation."
