A 15-calendar year-previous boy was fishing in the Tennessee River with a fishing tutorial when he caught a unusual leucistic blue catfish.

Edwards Tarumianz caught not only the uncommon fish, but also the attention of social media impressed by the exceptional come across.

Leucism is induced by a pretty rare, recessive gene, and is very similar to being an albino in that it lacks most of its coloration pigmentation. Leucism, however, does not have the pink eye that is a characteristic of an albino, according to WHD Chattanooga.

The teen was fishing with his manual, Capt. Richard Simms, who is an out of doors author for NewsChannel9.com.

Albino or leucistic catfish are from time to time caught close to the region, but it is a rarity for fishermen to reel one in.

"Edwards may catfish for the rest of his existence and hardly ever capture, or even see, a further fish like that," Simms explained. "I am 67 yrs old. I have boated practically tens of countless numbers of catfish over the many years and this was the first I might ever seen in human being."

But even if he experienced opted to continue to keep the fish, taxidermists are unable to mount catfish since of their fragile pores and skin. Edwards' father, Jeff, said he intends to have a duplicate mount designed.
