A man accused of vandalizing the rainbow crosswalks in Atlanta with swastikas was arrested adhering to a standoff with police this week.

The suspect is thought to have spray-painted a swastika onto the rainbow crosswalk at 10th Avenue and Piedmont Avenue on two independent instances, according to Atlanta police.

Investigators went to the suspect's condominium at all over noon on Friday. A SWAT Crew was known as in soon after the man would not answer to officers.

A man suspected of spray-painting a swastika on a rainbow crosswalk in Atlanta has been arrested.

Roadways in the location were blocked off as officers tried to get the man out.

At about 5 p.m., the suspect informed legislation enforcement he was leaving the condominium and he was taken into custody without the need of incident.

The identity of the suspect has not been launched. It remains unclear what rates he faces.

The Atlanta Law enforcement LGBTQ Liaison Unit was first alerted Wednesday about a "image that appeared to be a swastika spray-painted" at the intersection of 10th Avenue and Piedmont Avenue. Surveillance online video confirmed a guy enter the crosswalk and spray-paint a swastika just before walking absent.

The Atlanta Division of Transportation promptly arrived and cleaned it up. But by early Friday early morning, the symbol was on the crosswalk again.
