As issues mount that Russia may perhaps be wanting to international allies like Belarus to offer much more boots on the ground as its forces flag in Ukraine, a single Belarusian commander tells WHD News Electronic this approach could imply problems in Minsk’s ranks.

"My forecast is that it is not likely to happen, but if it does, then there will be huge troubles," Belarusian commander in the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment, Denys Prokhorov, explained speaking from Kyiv.

Prokhorov mentioned Belarus would very likely face "troop sabotage and [an] unwillingness to go to war" if Minsk forced its troops to combat with Russia in Ukraine.

Russia and Belarus have increasingly engaged in joint armed forces drills and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have warned that Minsk is tests its fight readiness in areas that border Ukraine. 

The Belarusian commander, who not too long ago returned to Kyiv from the entrance lines, is part of a volunteer Belarusian battling force that pledged allegiance to Ukraine in March subsequent Russia’s lethal invasion.

Prokhorov still left Belarus at the age of 18 to fight with Ukrainian forces next Russia’s 1st incursion in 2014.

Kyt instructions over 300 Belarusian soldiers who have joined the Kastus Kalinouski ranks to battle towards Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and mentioned regardless of elevated joint army drills agreed to by Moscow and Minsk there is little hunger for war in Belarus. 

"We want to have an understanding of that the common troops of the Republic of Belarus are in no way completely ready to resist Ukraine," he instructed WHD News Electronic. "They have no enthusiasm.

"The country of Belarus does not support the Russian armed aggression and a complete-scale invasion of Ukraine," he explained, noting that openly voicing opposition to the war in which Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has supported could direct to significant jail occasions.
