The New Orleans prisoners protest – in which inmates barricaded themselves inside of a pod to plea for improved jail ailments – ended on Sunday, Louisiana authorities say.

Orleans Justice Middle inmates organized on Friday to demand from customers improved disorders – which includes asking for better food and medicine, a washing machine, a dryer and a kiosk. The exertion lasted all over the weekend. 

Their demands also included amusement requests, like textbooks and a next Television set to look at Saints video games. The demonstration originated from the 2E pod, a significant-safety location. For the duration of the protests, residents refused to enter their cells and obey officers' orders to get rid of barricades from entryways.

The business office of Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson told WHD Electronic that inmates were presented meals, water and medication for people who required it, but the prisoners refused aid.
