A hiker died in Oregon on Friday immediately after plunging about 100 toes near a waterfall, authorities said.

The lady, whose identify was not instantly produced, was hiking with a group of close friends on the Multnomah Falls-Larch Mountain Trail close to 1:15 p.m. when she fell near Wiesendanger Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Business reported.

She experienced a claimed everyday living-threatening head harm in the drop, in accordance to authorities.

Corbett firefighters hiked about 1.3 miles from the trailhead to access the female and located bystanders performing CPR on her. Despite the everyday living-preserving initiatives, firefighters pronounced her dead, the sheriff’s business claimed.

"It’s terribly devastating," Stephanie Weinstein, a Canadian woman visiting Multnomah Falls, explained to FOX12 Oregon.

The Multnomah County Research and Rescue team was dispatched to help recover the hiker’s body.

Officers said the hiker’s id would be released right after the notification of her up coming of kin.
