Rep. Dan Crenshaw says Trump FBI raid is ‘automatically political', DOJ 'hasn't acted responsibly'

The FBI raid on previous President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida is "quickly political," in accordance to Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who suggests the Office of Justice "hasn’t acted responsibly."

The Texas Republican appeared Sunday on CNN’s "State of the Union," where by he was requested about Trump acquiring potentially stored labeled data in an unsecured site at his private residence. 

"I want to get to the truth," Crenshaw reported. "But I will be honest with you right here, it really is hard to justify what the Office of Justice did listed here, in my viewpoint."

Crenshaw pointed to Trump’s apparent cooperation with authorities prior to the FBI raid on August 8, stating that he nonetheless hasn’t viewed any proof that the former president was requested to give any documents again.

"Why consider it to this serious extent?" Crenshaw requested, suggesting that this may well be what is annoying Republicans.

The FBI raid, which Crenshaw termed "unparalleled," was linked to an investigation into records Trump allegedly took with him from the White House to his private home when he left business office in January 2021.

Trump has claimed that the paperwork seized by brokers were "all declassified."

Crenshaw recommended that the motion against Trump was politically determined.

"And you know that when you happen to be likely just after an ex-president who may possibly run yet again, that this is routinely political," the Republican congressman claimed. "You can not separate the lawful facets of this from the political elements of it. You won't be able to. And it doesn't appear to me like they have acted responsibly as a end result of that."
