A U.S. drone strike in Somalia on Sunday killed 13 customers of the terrorist group al-Shabab, the army claimed.
U.S. Africa Command acknowledged the strike, noting that an initial assessment of the condition located that no civilians had been injured or killed.
"In coordination with the Federal Authorities of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command performed an airstrike versus al-Shabaab terrorists that had been actively attacking Somali Nationwide Military forces in a remote site close to Teedaan, Somalia, Aug. 14.," U.S. African Command Community Affairs reported in a statement.
The statement observed that American forces have authorization "to conduct strikes in defense of specified spouse forces."

Africa Command reported that they and Somalia's federal federal government "take great measures to avoid civilian casualties," and that they "keep on being committed" to opposing al-Shabab, which they reported carries out "indiscriminate attacks" versus civilians.
"Violent extremist corporations like al-Shabaab existing extended-expression threats to Somali, regional and U.S. interests," the assertion mentioned.

The strike arrives months just after President Biden accepted sending hundreds of Specific Operations troops to Somalia in May perhaps.
