Republicans mocked President Biden’s speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia Thursday evening – in which he claimed that "equality and democracy are under assault" by "MAGA forces" – as "demagogic," "shameful" and with a "background that appears to be like like the Soviet Union and Hitler had a little one." 

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who posted a photo of the president and spectacular crimson qualifications, referred to as Biden’s speech the "most demagogic, outrageous, and divisive speech I have at any time noticed from an American president. Joe Biden primarily declared all those people who oppose him and his agenda enemies of the republic. Certainly shameful."

"Nothing screams unity like a backdrop of blood red lights and Marines positioned powering Biden as he shouts with raised clenched fists from the podium," Town Corridor reporter Mia Cathell wrote. 

Sen. Ted Cruz’s particular advisor for communications, Steve Visitor, simply wrote: "The lights for Joe Biden's speech tonight is so undesirable."

Cruz himself tweeted that Biden "vilified hundreds of thousands of Us citizens in a divisive & angry speech that was detached from the fact of his political failures. He isn’t truly interested in restoring the soul of the country, he’s only intrigued pitting his fellow People towards one particular a different."

Previous President Trump himself had a couple text to say about Biden’s hard talk directed at him. 

"If you look at the words and that means of the awkward and indignant Biden speech tonight, he threatened America, such as with the attainable use of army pressure," Trump wrote on his Truth of the matter Social web site. "He need to be crazy, or struggling from late stage dementia!"

He included, "Another person need to explain to Joe Biden, gradually but passionately, that MAGA indicates, as powerfully as mere terms can get, MAKE America Wonderful Yet again! If he does not want to Make America Wonderful Again, which by way of terms, action, and considered, he does not, then he definitely really should not be representing the United States of America!"

The former president also posted a photo break up of Biden on a person side keeping his fists in the air angrily and Trump on the other kissing an American flag.

Conversely, Sawyer Hackett, senior adviser for Obama administration HUD Secretary Julián Castro, lambasted the media for their criticisms of the placing.

"Biden gives a speech laying out in good depth the existential threats to our democracy and the push corp is clutching their pearls about the lights and optics. Jfc.," he lamented. 

The tone and location of Thursday's speech underscored Biden's energy to portray the upcoming congressional elections as part of what a White Residence official mentioned is "the continued struggle for the Soul of the Country." The president leaned on that type of rhetoric regularly through his 2020 presidential campaign and appears poised to deliver back some of all those talking points ahead of the 2022 midterms.
