A federal choose requested that previous President Trump sit for a deposition in the defamation lawsuit filed by writer E. Jean Carroll, who claimed he raped her in the 1990s and harmed her reputation in 2019 when he denied the allegations. 

U.S. District Choose Lewis Kaplan rejected a ask for by Trump's lawful group that his testimony be delayed. His deposition is scheduled for Oct 19.

"The defendant really should not be permitted to run the clock out on plaintiff’s endeavor to attain a remedy for what allegedly was a significant wrong," Kaplan wrote in a filing Wednesday.

"We’re happy that on behalf of our consumer, E. Jean Carroll, we had been in a position to just take Donald Trump’s deposition these days," a spokesperson for the agency, Kaplan, Hecker & Fink instructed WHD News on Wednesday. "We are not in a position to remark further more."

The choice comes in a lawsuit introduced by Carroll, who is recognised for her "Request E. Jean" column that ran in Elle Journal. Carroll alleges that Trump raped her in a dressing home at Bergdorf Goodman, a department shop in New York Town.

Carroll claims that Trump harmed her reputation in 2019 when he denied raping her.

Trump has consistently denied the allegations.

"We glimpse ahead to setting up on the file that this situation is, and usually has been, completely without having advantage," Trump attorney Alina Habba advised WHD News Wednesday.

Carroll is set to be deposed on Friday.

"We are happy that Choose Kaplan agreed with our situation not to remain discovery in this situation," Carroll's attorney Robbie Kaplan mentioned. "We glimpse ahead to filing our situation less than the Grownup Survivors Act and shifting forward to demo with all dispatch."

Independently, Trump appeared for a deposition in August as part of New York Lawyer Normal Letitia James’ civil investigation. Trump invoked his Fifth Modification rights, per the advice of his attorneys, throughout his deposition.
