The collaboration between FC Copenhagen and head of analysis Mounir Akhiat was a one-of-a-kind card.

Akhiat, who has held the title of Head of Analytics since last summer, has thus finished at FCK, the club states on its website.

– Together with the coaching staff, I – on the basis of our evaluation of the autumn – assessed that it was time to adjust the organization around the analysis people and their cooperation with the staff in everyday life, says sporting director Peter Christiansen, who explains that analysis has become an integral part of everyday life.

– Mounir has done a good, committed and professional job in terms of getting us there. We owe him thanks for that, and we wish him all the best in the future, Peter Christiansen also says.

FCK states that the position will not be filled again.

Despite the dismissal, Mounir Akhiat does not slam the door on the Park.

– I have had a good time at FC Copenhagen and worked with many talented people. I will take good experiences with me for my future assignments, and I look forward to the exciting experiences and relationships I can take with me further, he says to the club’s website.

Mounir Akhiat joined the club last summer from a position as a data analyst at DBU.

He also has a past in Brøndby’s staff, which attracted attention in connection with the FCK change. You can read more about that here.

There was otherwise great joy to be found in the then sporting manager William Kvist when Mounir Akhiat was hired last year.

– We are very happy that we can attract a capacity like Mounir to be a day-to-day manager in close interaction with the coaches. He has played an important role in the men’s national team in recent years, where he has been part of the coaching team in the work with the preparations and tactics for the matches, said William Kvist at the time.
