"It's amazing and incredible to have been part of something that, you know, is so steeped in nostalgia for people and still resonates with people in the way that it does," Winslet said. "It's a huge, huge honor that people still love something that I was a part of all those years ago."

Winslet, who is now 47, said she turned 21 during the filming of Titanic, which was directed by James Cameron.

“It’s half my lifetime ago,” Winslet added. “It’s magical.”

Winslet is now starring in another James Cameron-directed film, Avatar: The Way of Water, which is set to hit theaters on Dec. 16.

Titanic debuted in theaters on Dec. 19, 1997.
