A Croatian fan tells us that Jure, one of the ten who performed a “fan diversion” in Doha, in the way that they painted the concrete blocks on the beach in front of the hotel in recognizable white and red colors.

Jure, Pero, Mićo, Zoka, Želja, Ivan L. and his wife, Dinko… came up with the idea to paint the area in front of the Hilton Hotel, where the Croatian national team members are staying, before the match with Belgium.

– We got the paint through our people who live here and on the first night we painted 14 squares. We didn’t even get to the hotel, and some players contacted us who saw them from the window. They were glad – Jure tells us and adds:

– But we wouldn’t be us if we didn’t try to complete the action. The evening before Japan, we bought a few more buckets of paint, we managed to paint 22 more cubes, we still had a few pieces left, and then the police arrived in five cars and took us to the station.

It sounds dangerous but…

– They spilled paint on us, painted a little on what we had done, and everything was OK at the station. They didn’t know what they would charge us with, they say we were destroying public property, but it seems we passed with a warning and a warning not to do it again. They were friendly, they kept us until 5:30 in the morning, but we talked more about football than about our action.
