Not less than six girls died and 18 different passengers have been injured after a bus they have been travelling in veered off a cliff in Western Nepal’s Palpa district, police stated.

The accident happened on the Saljhandi-Dhorpatan highway part on Thursday.

The bus en path to Khursane from Saljhandi in Rupandehi district fell some 60 metres down the highway at Madhuban area, The Kathmandu Put up newspaper reported.

All six passengers who died on the spot have been girls, the report stated, quoting police officers.

Rem Bahadur Rana, the chairman of ward 8 of the agricultural municipality, knowledgeable that a workforce of police and locals rescued the injured, it stated.

The injured are being handled on the Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal.

The rescue workforce confronted difficulties whereas recovering the our bodies and serving to the injured, three of whom have been crushed beneath the bus, because of poor climate circumstances.

Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal condoled the loss of life of the ladies and wished a speedy restoration to those that sustained accidents within the accident.

Highway accidents are quite common in Nepal and happen primarily because of poorly maintained roads and automobiles.
