The attacks on the two journalists were denounced by Michael Greenspon, president of the Inter-American Press Association (SIP), who also urged the Peruvian government to “implement urgent measures to protect journalism, especially in moments of political crisis, when the population needs to have a variety of information sources.”

The assaults on Rosa Mara Palacios and the head of IDL-R were denounced by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), who stated that they “seem to be a common practice for certain violent groups in the country, far from being isolated incidents.”
