The Worldwide Financial Fund’s govt board has accepted a $2.9 billion bailout for Sri Lanka, President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s workplace stated on Monday.

“The IMF Government Board accepted Sri Lanka’s program below the Prolonged Fund Facility (EFF) that can allow Sri Lanka to entry as much as $7 billion in funding,” the president’s workplace stated.

“We’re happy that the IMF Government Board accepted our program, enabling Sri Lanka to entry as much as $7.0 billion in funding from the IMF and Worldwide monetary establishments,” he stated.
