Reverend Stjepan Šumanovac he was dismissed from the post of pastor of the Parish of St. Nicholas, and the time and place of his personal spiritual gathering was determined for him after he had seduced married women. Now he has a new parish. Some send him words of welcome, others are horrified.

Stjepan Šumanovac is in Selci, Đakovica, in the parish he manages in the absence of the pastor. There is only one story about the events in the old parish.

– What happened to me as a priest and as a person, I can honestly say that I am sorry – he told RTL.

After his dismissal, he was sent to the Benedictine monastery on the island of Pašman for a spiritual retreat. He worked there for a month, prayed and talked with the priest, so, he says, he is sorry in the full sense of the word.

– When I say the word I’m sorry and I know what I’ve been through and what I’m still going through and what I’ve been through, I know in that spiritual gathering how much weight it has on my life – he said.

– I faced myself, with God – that’s the most important thing for me, I answer to God, right?
