Panathinaikos was better at the beginning and after a point from the counter by Derrick Williams, it reached a four point advantage (4:8).

That forced Željko Obradović to take the first time-out, after which the black and whites played better. Partizan takes the first lead in the match (11:10) with Lesor’s dunk in the half of the section.

The two teams then took turns in the lead, until the end of the first quarter when the guests made a 9:0 run and went to plus eight at 18:26.

The Athens team reached an 18-point advantage in five minutes in the second half, while Partizan scored only two points during that time.

Partizan responded to the guests’ 10:0 series with the same measure. Two consecutive three-pointers were scored by Panther, while after the counter attack, the American guard and Alen Smailagić were accurate in 30:38.

By the end of the half, the black and whites managed to reduce the deficit by two more points and went to the break with a score of 39:45.

Three minutes of play in the second half was enough for Partizan to get close to minus one (45:46), and halfway through the half, Panathinaikos took a six-point lead with Dwayne Bacon’s three-pointer.

And the continuation of the third quarter took place in the same rhythm, whenever the home team approached the rival, Panathinaikos had an answer and in the end entered the last part with a difference of eight points 58:66.

At the beginning of the last part, the guests again went to a double-digit difference after a three-pointer by Lefteris Mancukas (60:71), while Partizan responded with a 12:0 series, which five minutes before the end was concluded by a three-pointer from Exum for Partizan’s first lead after the first part.

With four tied points, Panther Partizan took a three-point advantage two minutes before the end (80:77), but the Greek team soon returned the difference to their side with free throws (80:81).
