Actor Chris Pratt went on the record to say he's unphased by hate over his Christian religion.

“I sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?” Pratt said when asked by Page Six about the criticism he's received. "If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20.”

While he is passionate about his faith, Pratt claims "no church defines" him. Rumors sprung in 2019 that he attended an anti-LGBTQ+ church.

“That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated [Jesus Christ,] too,” he added, referencing Jesus Christ.

Pratt his now wife Katherine Schwarzenegger began dating in 2018 after meeting at church and married in 2019. Their children include Lyla Maria, 2, and Eloise Christina, 10 months. The Guardians of the Galaxy star is also the father to his 10-year-old son, Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris.

This interview comes on the weekend that his latest film Guardians of the Galaxy was released, earning $114 million in its domestic box office weekend.

It was the second-biggest opening weekend of the year, behind Pratt's other film The Super Mario Bros. Movie at $146 million.
