Actor Scott Baio said he is abandoning California over the homelessness ravaging the state.

Baio, 62, who may be best known for his roles as Chachi on Happy Days and Charles on Charles in Charge, ripped on California's soft-on-crime policies and said the state is "not a safe place anymore," according to a series of tweets.

"After 45 years, I'm making my way to finally 'exit stage right' from California," he tweeted last week.

In 2022, there were at least 69,000 homeless people in Los Angeles County and 41,000 in the city, Baio shared.

"This brings down property value. Also no consequences for crime that is rampant, making things higher in price and it’s just not a safe place anymore," he tweeted.

Not everyone on social media took kindly to Baio's announcement.

"You exited from relevancy about 30 years ago, who cares?" one commentator tweeted.

"Literally, you just did, s***head!" Baio replied.
