Buckingham Palace revealed that an array of historic chairs will likely be used for the coronation of King Charles. The historic St Edward’s Chair, which was revamped 700 years in the past and was first used for the coronation of King Edward II in 1308, will likely be used for the second of Charles’ crowning, the palace knowledgeable.

King Charles and his spouse Queen Consort Camilla will likely be seated in Chairs of Property and Throne Chairs at completely different factors through the service, the palace stated in a press release.

The Chairs of Property which will likely be used through the early components of the service and for the coronation of Camilla had been made for the coronation of Charles’ mom Queen Elizabeth in 1953. King Charles and Camilla may also be seated within the Throne Chairs throughout some components of the coronation which had been made for the coronation in 1937 of King George VI and his spouse Queen Elizabeth, later often called Queen Mom.

The Chairs of Property and Throne Chairs from the Royal Assortment “have been conserved, restored and tailored as required,” the palace revealed.
