The Israeli military rescued another child in southern Turkey, a nine-year-old boy who spent almost five days in the rubble of a house destroyed by an earthquake. The boy’s father and older sister were previously rescued. The mother died, her body was found.

In the last 24 hours alone, nine people have been rescued in Kahramanmarash, the IDF press service reports. In total, the Israelis rescued 19 people in southern Turkey.

On February 10, the Israeli mission opened a field hospital to treat victims of the earthquake in Kahramanmarash, in southern Turkey (northwest of Gaziantep), the IDF press service reported.

Earlier, Israeli military doctors and engineers helped rebuild the local hospital.

The Israeli field hospital in Kahramanmarash employs about 140 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, radiologists, laboratory technicians, paramedics and other medical personnel. The Medical Assistance Delegation is led by IDF Deputy Chief Medical Officer Lieutenant Colonel Tomer Koller.

About 70 countries sent their rescue missions to Turkey after a series of devastating earthquakes in the south and east of this country, Anadolu news agency reported.

It is noted that the most numerous rescue missions arrived in Turkey from Azerbaijan (725 people), Israel (450), India (252), France (204), the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (200).

Thus, the delegation of Israeli rescuers and doctors in Turkey is one of the largest.
